I am attaching a picture of it. The flat marker is directly behind this old footstone marker.9

OBITUARY

Departed this life Bro. C. C. Billingsley, May 17th 1912. Bro. Billingsley was born in Alabama, August 28th 1838, moved to Mississippi with his Father in 1843, moved to Arkansas in 1855. He united with the church at Okalona Ark in the year of 1860, in 1861 he cast his lot with the South in behalf of his home land.

He was taken prisoner at Corinth Mississippi, he afterwards joined the Arkansas State Calvary where he served until the end of the war. He was married to Miss Julia Harrison Dec. 25, 1866. There was born to this union 10 children, one dying in infancy. He leaves a wife and 9 children, and many grand children besides friends and relatives to mourn his death. He leaves two sisters and one brother on this side, Mrs. T. D. Buchanan, Mrs. A. E. McGuire and O. M. Billingsley. One sister and brother preceded him to the other shore.

Everything that loving hands could do to keep him with us was done but to no avail. While our grief weighs us down yet we sorrow not as others who have no hope, for we believe he is in the paradise of God waiting to welcome us soon. I would say to his dear wife and children, if you expect to spend eternity with your husband and father you must live for Christ.

The day following his death we laid him to rest in the Bluff City cemetery there to await the trumpet of God, attended by many sorrowing relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted by Eld Sudsbury, of Bluff City. Farewell dear one un till we meet again in the sweet bye and bye.

T. D. Buchanan.
